i did a site search on the teaching often referred to as universal restoration or universal redemption - and found zip.
after 25 years as a christian - on both the inside and the outside of the organised evangelical church - i now find myself looking closely at this teaching and feeling quietly excited and liberated by it.
for our purposes within the emergent conversation i would love to see this teaching discussed as i feel it warrants much closer attention.
does anyone here hold to the view that at the end of time, ALL of humanity will be redeemed? while the majority of evangelicals tend to dismiss it out of hand - as i would have once - there exist many scriptures that at least suggest the possibility.
See: Hebrews 2:9 + 1 Timothy 2:5-6 + 1 Corinthians 15:21-22 etc.
at the very least we surely must validate the premise that G-d desires all to be restored.
thanks, liquidlight.

yes!
this is a subject i have been wrestling with myself! talk to me, how do you see this in scripture, in the overall story of god and man?

i went to a site from your blog last night. that combined with some prayer by a friend, has given me the most piece and trust in god that i have experienced in a long time. i cant remember the name of the site you linked to on your blog, but what i appreciated was that it was a thoughtful, logical look at this thinking WITHIN the context of the very teaching that some use to difute it. helpful, calm, studious. thanks.
