John Macquarrie, was formerly Lady Margaret Professor of Divinity at Oxford University. He had also been Professor of Systematic Theology at Union Theological Seminary in New York, and Lecturer at the University of Glasgow.
Timothy Bradshaw has described Macquarrie as “unquestionably Anglicanism’s most distinguished theologian in the second half of the twentieth century.”
