I have added a scripture filter that will convert properly
constructed Bible references to links to online texts (ESV online, NET Bible and
Bible Gateway). You
can use the full Bible book name or the following abbreviations. The filter is case-sensitive - you need the capital letter.
Gen | Ex | Lev | Num | Deut | Josh | Judg / Jdg | Rut | 1/2 Sam | 1/2 Kn | 1/2 Chron | Ezr | Neh | Est | Jb | Ps | Prov | Eccl | Song | Is / Isa | Jer | Lam | Ezek | Dan | Hos | Joe | Amo | Oba | Jon | Mic | Nah | Hab | Zeph | Hag | Zech | Mal
Matt | Mk | Lk | Jn | Act | Rom | 1/2 Cor | Gal | Eph | Col | Phil | 1/2 Thess | Tim | Tit | Phile | Heb | Jam | 1/2 Pet | Jud | Rev
There needs to be a space between the name of the book and the chapter and verse. These are legitimate forms: Deuteronomy 3:16; Deut 3:16; Deut. 3:16; Deut. 3:16-17.
The default version is the English Standard Version. Other versions can be specified: NIV | NASB | AMP | NLT | KJV | CEV | NET | NKJV | KJ21 | ASV | WE | YLT | DARBY | WYC | NIV-UK | MSG | NIRV. The abbreviation is added at the end of the reference: Deut 3:16 YLT.
A lot of old links won’t work but I will try to update as many as possible.

Referencing - That's so cool!
That’s so cool! Call me a geek, but automatic referencing is awesome.
Any chance of adding target=”_blank” to the code? A new tab would be much prefered to losing my OST page.
Thanks again for your tireless (or tiring!) work, Andrew.
Done
Good suggestion. It’s done.
