The Resourceful-Reacting Statistician

I have just gotten into Fretheim’s “The Suffering God”. I confess it’s like reading another language. But my question at this point is; if we take away God’s omniscience; haven’t we reduced Him to an exceptionally good statistician who’s really quick on His feet?

Also, what are the implications for prophecy?

The humility of God

Take my yoke upon you and learn from me for I am gentle and humble in heart and you shall find rest for your souls.

The above verse is the basis for a theological construct for the open source theology needed to progress Christianity into the ages.

Please feel free to deconstruct or build upon these offerings.

The Limits of Jesus in His Church

Isn’t it amazing how restricted we are from the spirit world. First God gave the Commandment to have no other God but He. So we shut down all spiritual knowledge outside of the specific consciousness of God. Then we were given access to one soul as proof that both God exists and souls enter an afterlife. From that restriction we have had to figure everything out spiritually.

The Paradox of Sovereignty and Freewill, how I explain it...

I have been working on this one for a long time… a way to conclude the paradox of God’s sovereignty and man’s freewill. Not sure if I’ve got it yet, but here goes.

I am a parent of a soon to be 5 year old boy named Luke. As a parent, I have a certain amount of control over Luke’s experience. I can offer him different choices at different times, with a certain amount of control over what choices he has presented to him. I don’t have perfect control of every situation, but I have some. And I am able to exercise this control as I see fit.

Also as a parent, I have a certain amount of knowledge about what choices Luke will make, given a set of circumstances. I know if I offer Luke a glass of orange juice after a day of running around outside, he will say "yes". I know if I ask him if he wants to eat cod liver, he will say "no".

The biblical experience of jealousy

I have a few thoughts on how the jealousy of God is not simply believed but experienced. This is a dimension to biblical theology that we need always to keep in view - it is rarely abstract; it is nearly always an expression of actual historical experience in some way or other. There is something to be said for danutz’s emphasis on theology as how Israel viewed God. Even if we might prefer to express this in the more objective language of revelation, we cannot get away from the fact that God is revealed through the process of reflection on corporate experience.

You know the MIRACLE of Human Creation?

The human body is the most complicated machine in the world. We see with it, hear with it, breathe with it, walk and run with it, and sense pleasure with it. Its bones, muscles, arteries, veins and internal organs are organized with marvellous design, and when we examine this design in detail we find even more amazing facts. Every part of the body, though each may seem to be so different from another, is made up of the same material: cells.

Cells, each of which is one thousandth of a millimetre, are the structural units that form our body and everything in it. Some of these cells unite to form bones, others to form nerves, the liver, the inner layer of the stomach, the skin or the cornea of the eyeball. Each has the size and shape that exactly meet the requirement of that part of the body. How and when did cells, which have such varied functions, come into being?

Was Jesus' baptism a trinitarian event?

I’d like to pick up on Peter’s comment in the ‘different views of the trinity thread’ that Jesus’ baptism was a ‘trinitarian event attended by Father, Son and Holy Spirit’. Apart from the fact that this makes it sound like Father, Son and Holy Spirit turned up at the church like three close relatives (I’m sure the humour was intended), it seems to me that this illustrates rather well the problem of using ‘trinitarian’ in such a context.

different views of the trinity

With this new topic I would like to discuss my tentative opinion that the trinity as most christians hold it today represents only the ‘Athanasius wing’ of the historical council in Nicea.

A Glimpse Into The Eye Of God

This recently came to me, so to speak and the only thing I can do with it is share it with you. I hope you feel the same and pass it on. A Glimpse Into The Eye Of God by GrimmJoke 1. The Eternal Paradox Infinity equals zero.Nothing is infinite.Infinite is nothing. Imagine a black hole, it has infinite mass as such it has infinite gravity, even light cannot escape its pull. As a result of this the physical laws of the universe/reality no longer apply, as it’s existence is a paradox

Open theology & foreknowledge.

Open theology & the foreknowledge of G-d is something i feel would be well worth exploring in this forum & as far as i am aware from a cursory search, has not been touched on to any great length.  if anyone is interested, i would recommend that you read the following essay @

i have ordered Boyds book, "God of the Possible", as a start and i intuit that we might gain a lot from exploring the open view of
